Nigeria’s Comic Republic creates African superheroes

Comic Republic, a Nigerian comics startup is creating African superheroes for Africans and black readers around the world. The startup says it believes “in the power of story telling” and aims to put Africa’s best foot forward in comics and entertainment

Comic Republic, a Nigerian comics startup based in Lagos, is creating a universe of superheroes for Africans and black readers around the world. The cast of characters—”Africa’s Avengers” according to some fans—ranges from Guardian Prime, a 25-year old Nigerian fashion designer by day who uses his extraordinary strength to fight for a better Nigeria, to Hilda Avonomemi Moses, a woman from a remote village in Edo state who can see spirits, and Marcus Chigozie, a privileged but angry teenager who can move at supersonic speeds.

“I thought about when I was young and what I used to make my decisions on: What would Superman do, what would Batman do? I thought, why not African superheroes?” Chief executive Jide Martin, who founded the company in 2013, told Quartz. Its tagline is, “We can all be heroes.”

The startup may be a sign that comics are having a moment on the continent as well as in a market once said to lack interest in African-inspired characters. The nine-person team has seen downloads of its issues, published online and available for free, grow from a couple hundred in 2013 to 25,000 in its latest release last month as the series has become more popular. Comic Republic plans to make money from sponsorships and advertisers.

So far, companies have asked Comic Republic to create comics for their products and NGOs have asked for help illustrating public health risks like malaria. The head of one of the country’s largest e-commerce outfits, has asked for a portrait of himself rendered as a superhero. The story of one the characters, Aje—Yoruba for “witch”—may be made into a movie by a local filmmaker. Another edition of Guardian Prime’s story is scheduled for this month.

The startup is part of what some say is a renaissance of made-in-Africa music, literature, and art that resonate beyond the continent. Over half of Comic Republic’s downloads are from readers in the United States, the United Kingdom, and a scattering are from other countries like Brazil and the Philippines. About 30% come from Nigeria, according to Martin. Lagos now hosts an annual Comic Con for the comic and entertainment industry. Kenya hosted one for the first time in 2015.

The comic book industry has potential in Africa in part because of the popularity of superhero-themed films, Martin points out. His company launched with Guardian Prime, “a black Superman,” he says, on the same day as the 2013 premiere of Man of Steel.

Other African characters have already emerged. A popular South African comic, Kwezi, or “star” in Xhosa and Zulu, created by designer and artist Loyiso Mkize, follows a teenage superhero in Gold City, a metropolis imagined after Johannesburg. The comic, which features plenty of local slang and cultural references, is a “a coming of age story about finding one’s heritage,” according to Mkize. Nigerian animator Roye Okupe’s graphic novel, E.X.O: The Legend of Wale Williams released in August, is meant to “put Africa on the map when it comes to telling superhero stories,” according to Okupe.

Comic Republic’s universe of heroes differs from its Western peers in other ways. Of the nine characters created by Comic Republic, four are women, which Martin believes is a reflection of the fact that women are active in politics and business circles. “Today’s Nigeria, we’re very indifferent to whether someone is a man or woman. I wouldn’t say there was any strategic decision. It’s just a way of life for us,” he said.

Beyond battling evil and saving the day, the comics are meant to show how individuals can come together to provide for a “better safer Africa,” chief operations officer, Tobe Ezeogu said in November.

That message appears to be getting across to some readers. One fan wrote on Comic Republic’s Facebook wall of its flagship character, Guardian Prime, “My favorite quote [by him]: ‘All it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to stand by and do nothing. I won’t stand by. I am Nigerian.’ I’m not Nigerian, but heroes are going to help the youth and stimulate patriotism.”

Adolf Hitler is Donald Trump grandfather . Mugabe puts Trump in his position

“Adolf Hitler is Donald Trump’s grandfather” – Mugabe puts Trump in his position

HARARE, ZIMBABWE. Barely a week after American tycoon and Republican Presidential hopeful Donald Trump threatened to arrest and imprison Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and his Zimbabwean counterpart Robert Mugabe, the Zimbabwean President has firmly responded.

Speaking yesterday in a fundraising in Harare where he was chief guest, Mugabe said that Hitler and Trump have everything in common from blood to character and that they are grandfather and grandson.

The furious Zimbabwean President reiterated that Trump took after his grandfather Hitler because the reckless words he utters confirms the same.

“Recently that madman that wants to be American President said he’ll arrest some African Presidents including my brother Yoweri and myself and lock us in his imaginary prison should he become American President”

“May I state here that that Trump will never take us anywhere because we Africans are the strongest and fearless in the universe. I wish everyone to Know that I have nothing to fear and I want to tell the world that that Hitler’s descendant (Trump) has taken after him and he is about to do his worst should the people of America make a mistake of electing him” Said President Mugabe.

Just like his grandfather Hitler caused World War II, and he wants to create World War III so as to leave behind a legacy but the world will not allow that. How do you even start imagining that you are going to arrest a man like myself? Is that Trump’s head okay? And, are there enough doctors in America to check this man’s psychiatric condition? Added Mr. Mugabe furiously.

“I will lock Mugabe and Museveni in prison if I become President” – Donald Trump VOWS

Washington DC, US business mogul Donald Trump has put Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and Ugandan President , on notice, vowing to deal with them ruthlessly when he ascends to Presidency.

Speaking while addressing war veterans in Washington, Trump warned other like minded dictators who want to die in power, that their time is up and its just a matter of time before they face justice.

“I want to reiterate here before America’s greatest heroes that I will not condone any dictatorial tendencies exhibited by dictators around the world especially the two old men from Zimbabwe and Uganda”

Mugabe and Museveni must be put on notice that their days are numbered and that I am going to arrest them and lock them in prison. If the past American administrations have failed to stop these two despots, I will personally do it”

Mugabe and Museveni have given the world enough troubles and its about time someone puts to an end all these madness for peace to prevail” Sid Trump who seemed unapologetic.

If Obama fears them, I will never fear them. If clinton and Bush feared them, If the Pope kneels before them, I will never be reduced to that level. I will never be cowed. I promise to clean all the political mess around the world and promote international justice” Added Trump arrogantly.

Dr. Frances Cress Welsing, Author Of The Isis Papers, Dead At 80

Dr. Frances Cress Welsing died at 5:50 am, Sat., Jan. 2, from a stroke she suffered

Frances Cress Welsing, the Black author and psychiatrist whose 1991 work The Isis Papers; The Keys to the Colors introduced the world to the “melanin theory” and the “neuroses” of white supremacy, has died. She was 80-years-old.Welsing, a Chicago native and graduate of Howard University‘s College of Medicine, often explored the origins of White supremacy in her works, arguing that White people developed an aggressive manifestation to dominate society due to a biological mutation. Her research, while controversial, focused on White racism while offering the theory of Black superiority based on heightened levels of melanin.

In her 1970 essay The Cress Theory of Color-Confrontation and Racism (White Supremacy), Welsing wrote that “the quality of whiteness is a genetic inadequacy or a relative deficiency or disease based upon the inability to produce the skin pigments of melanin which are responsible for all skin color.”

“Acutely aware of their inferior genetic ability to produce skin color, whites built the elaborate myth of white genetic superiority. Furthermore, whites set about the huge task of evolving a social, political and economic structure that would support the myth of the inferiority of Blacks and other non-whites,” she wrote.

While her intellectual work has garnered praise from the Black community, her stance on homosexuality has been criticized. In the 1980’s Welsing wrote that homosexuality was a “white-imposed” attempt to discourage reproduction in Black families.

Hip-hop journalist and activist Harry Allen took to Twitter to send his condolences, reporting that Welsing died from a stroke she suffered earlier this week.

Ousted Burkina Faso President, Blaise Compaore Charged in Thomas Sankara Killing

Posted by The Reunion Black Family on December 22, 2015 at 6:45 PM Comments comments (0)

The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told AFP that Compaore, who is living in exile in the Ivory Coast, had been charged with an “attack” and “assassination”.

Compaore was toppled from power by a popular uprising in October 2014 after ruling Burkina Faso with an iron fist for 27 years.

Sankara, a revolutionary figure who is still a hero to many in west Africa, was killed on October 15, 1987 during the coup that brought his friend and former comrade-in-arms Compaore to power.

A police lab helping investigate the killing of the iconic former president on Monday said it had not managed to detect any of his DNA in the remains presumed to be his, according to a family lawyer.

Remains believed to be those of Sankara and 12 former aides also killed during the coup were exhumed from a cemetery in the capital Ouagadougou in May.

At least five other people, mostly former soldiers, have been charged in connection with Sankara’s killing — including General Gilbert Diendere, Compaore’s former chief of staff, who led a failed coup in September.

Burkina Faso has issued an international arrest warrant for ousted leader Blaise Compaore in connection with the murder of former President Thomas Sankara, news reports said on Monday.

Sankara, a revolutionary figure who is still a hero to many in West Africa, was killed on October 15, 1987, during the coup that brought his friend and former comrade-in-arms Compaore to power.

"I confirm that an international arrest warrant was issued against [ex-]President Blaise Compaore by the investigating judge," Prosper Farama, a lawyer for Sankara's family, told Reuters news agency.

Compaore himself was driven from power last October by crowds opposing his bid to change the West African country's constitution and extend his 27-year rule. He fled to neighbouring Ivory Coast, where he is now thought to be based.

At least five other people, mostly former soldiers, have been charged in connection with Sankara's killing - including General Gilbert Diendere, Compaore's former chief-of-staff, who led a failed coup in September.

Sankara took power in a coup in 1983 and pursued a philosophy of Marxism and pan-Africanism that led him to be called "Africa's Che Guevara".

 West Africa haunted

Sankara's murder is one of the most high-profile killings in Africa's post-independence history and criminal charges could represent a breakthrough in a case that has haunted the West African country for decades.

Meanwhile on Monday, a police lab helping to investigate Sankara's killing said it could not find any "detectable DNA" in remains presumed to be his, another family lawyer said.

Nearly three decades after his death, remains believed to be those of Sankara and 12 former aides were exhumed from a cemetery in the capital, Ouagadougou, in May.

"There is no detectable DNA in accordance with the current state of science," said Benewende Stanislas Sankara, one of the lawyers representing Sankara's family and who is no relation.

"We can simply say that in view of these results, the state of the remains did not permit the laboratory to certify the existence of DNA," the lawyer said.

A police lab in the southern French city of Marseilles performed the testing.

Sankara's death certificate stated that the 37-year-old former army captain died of "natural causes".

According to autopsy results released in October, the leader's supposed remains were "riddled with bullets".

Several reports have since suggested that he was executed by a hit squad at government headquarters.

Brussels cancels homage to Leopold II amid protest

Posted by The Reunion Black Family on December 22, 2015 at 6:05 PM Comments comments (0)

The City of Brussels has cancelled plans to hold an homage to King Leopold II on Thursday evening in front of the statue of the former Belgian king. Protest against the event was at the heart of the decision to cancel, due to the dubious role the king played in the colonial history of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

According to Brussels alderman Geoffroy Coomans de Brachène, the event was considered a “bad idea” by a number of organisations, even though the purpose of the meeting was to highlight the "important urban accomplishments" of Leopold II in Brussels, writes brusselnieuws.be.

The city has since cancelled the homage that was to be held tomorrow in front of the equestrian statue at Place du Trône. The accompanying conference at City Hall, however, will go ahead as planned, to commemorate 150 years since Belgium's second king took the throne.

The homage has drawn a lot of criticism from the public, human rights organisations and politicians. Brussels MP Bruno De Lille called the event "morally reprehensible", and likened it to "laughing at the suffering of the genocide victims and their families."

While King Leopold II may well have left a significant mark on the urban landscape in Brussels, including the Justice Palace and Park Cinquantenaire, he is better known as the man responsible for the brutal regime of the Congo Free State at the end of the 19th century, one of the most exploitative colonial regimes in modern history, which cost as many as 10 million lives.

Letter from one of the most evil King Leopold II of Belgium to Colonial Missionaries, 1883

Reverends, Fathers and Dear Compatriots:

The task that is given to fulfill is very delicate

and requires much tact. You will go certainly to evangelize, but your evangelization must inspire

above all Belgium interests. Your principal objective in our mission in the Congo is never to teach

the niggers to know God, this they know already. They speak and submit to a Mungu, one Nzambi,

one Nzakomba, and what else I don't know. They know that to kill, to sleep with someone else's

wife, to lie and to insult is bad. Have courage to admit it; you are not going to teach them what they

know already. Your essential role is to facilitate the task of administrators and industrials, which

means you will go to interpret the gospel in the way it will be the best to protect your interests in

that part of the world. For these things, you have to keep watch on disinteresting our savages from

the richness that is plenty [in their underground. To avoid that, they get interested in it, and make

you murderous] competition and dream one day to overthrow you.

Your knowledge of the gospel will allow you to find texts ordering, and encouraging your

followers to love poverty, like “Happier are the poor because they will inherit the heaven” and, “It's

very difficult for the rich to enter the kingdom of God.” You have to detach from them and make

them disrespect everything which gives courage to affront us. I make reference to their Mystic

System and their war fetish – warfare protection – which they pretend not to want to abandon, and

you must do everything in your power to make it disappear.

Your action will be directed essentially to the younger ones, for they won't revolt when the

recommendation of the priest is contradictory to their parent's teachings. The children have to learn

to obey what the missionary recommends, who is the father of their soul. You must singularly insist

on their total submission and obedience, avoid developing the spirit in the schools, teach students to

read and not to reason. There, dear patriots, are some of the principles that you must apply. You will

find many other books, which will be given to you at the end of this conference. Evangelize the

niggers so that they stay forever in submission to the white colonialists, so they never revolt against

the restraints they are undergoing. Recite every day – “Happy are those who are weeping because

the kingdom of God is for them.”

Letter from King Leopold II of Belgium to Colonial Missionaries, 1883 2

Convert always the blacks by using the whip. Keep their women in nine months of

submission to work freely for us. Force them to pay you in sign of recognition-goats, chicken or

eggs-every time you visit their villages. And make sure that niggers never become rich. Sing every

day that it's impossible for the rich to enter heaven. Make them pay tax each week at Sunday mass.

Use the money supposed for the poor, to build flourishing business centres. Institute a confessional

system, which allows you to be good detectives denouncing any black that has a different

consciousness contrary to that of the decision-maker. Teach the niggers to forget their heroes and to

adore only ours. Never present a chair to a black that comes to visit you. Don't give him more than

one cigarette. Never invite him for dinner even if he gives you a chicken every time you arrive at

his house.

“The above speech which shows the real intention of the Christian missionary journey in

Africa was exposed to the world by Mr. Moukouani Muikwani Bukoko, born in the Congo in 1915,

and who in 1935 while working in the Congo, bought a second hand Bible from a Belgian priest

who forgot the speech in the Bible. – Dr. Chiedozie Okoro

Mexico Combats Racism Against Blacks, Recognizes Afro-Mexicans in New Census.

Mexico Combats Racism Against Blacks, Recognizes Afro-Mexicans in New Census.

Afro-Mexicans are finally getting their due recognition in the newest edition of Mexico’s census.

Mexico Negro, a pro-Black Mexican group, won a campaign to have Afro-Mexicans listed as an identity option in the national census that was released on Dec. 8.

The country has about 1.38 million people of African descent, making up approximately 1.2 percent of its population. This is the first time in Mexican history that Blacks can fully identify themselves on the census report, a significant move towards equality in a country that has historically tried to erase blackness from its national legacy since the Mexican Revolution in 1910.

For almost a century, the term “mestizage” has been exclusively used to recognize interracial lineage from colonizers mixed with indigenous people—simultaneously ignoring Mexico’s history and descendants of African slaves.

Getting Black people to be recognized on the census has been a battle forged by Mexico Negro for the past 15 years. The organization points out that having Black people accurately represented on the country’s census combats the anti-black/structural racism that is pervasive throughout Latin America.

Based on your culture, history and traditions, do you consider yourself black, meaning Afro-Mexican or Afro-descendant?

- Mexico's 2015 intercensal survey

The inclusion of that question was initially considered a delicate matter. Cervera said that using the word negro (black) on the questionnaires was viewed by some as a touchy issue, since many researchers considered it a pejorative term. But that turned out to be mostly an academic concern; those who were surveyed didn’t object to the word and appreciated being able to identify as “Afro-Mexican,” he said.

“These groups want to count statistically, so they can solicit government or institutional support,” Cervera said.

One of the main takeaways from the first data set is that Mexico’s self-identified black population doesn’t appear to be trailing the rest of the population in terms of access to education or health services—something that Cervera says he was “pleasantly surprised” to find out. In general terms, Mexico’s black population seems to have better access to public services, education and work opportunities than the indigenous population, he said.

In any event, all Mexicans would be better served from stronger public policies and improved quality of life. And accurate census data is a first step towards diagnosing the problems facing different communities.

“We celebrate this inclusion,” said Benigno Gallardo, an Afro-Mexican activist based in the southern state of Guerrero. But he says much needs to be done to achieve full recognition. “In school they teach our children about Europeans and indigenous natives, but the history books practically don’t recognize our history.”

It’s a history that’s deeply woven into Mexico’s colonial past.

Some claim the first black people arrived with the Spanish conquistadors. After the fall of the Aztec Empire and the establishment of a Viceroyalty in what is today Mexico City, Spanish rulers began importing slaves from Africa to replace indigenous slaves who died from disease and epidemic. Soon the term “mulato” was coined to describe mixed-race generations of black people and white Europeans.

Under colonial rule, Mexican society was divided into a system of castes where different groups were ranked according to the ruling elite’s perception of “blood purity,” with the white Spanish at the top and mulatos and other mixed races at the bottom.

In the early 1800s, the country’s independence movement abolished slavery and many freed black Mexicans joined the insurgent forces against the Spanish. Subsequent generations settled in the Gulf of Mexico and in the south of the country, mainly in a region known as Costa Chica, which today is largely populated by Afro-Mexicans.

In recent years, the black Mexican population has become more visible, also in the United States. Interracial mixing between African Americans and some Latinos in South Los Angeles has even led to the term “Blaxican.”

Before Columbus..How Africans Brought Civilization to America Continent.

The Olmec civilization, which was of African origin and dominated by Africans, was the first significant civilization in Mesoamerica and the Mother Culture of Mexico.

Olmecs are perhaps best known for the carved colossal heads found in Central Mexico, that exhibit an unmistakably African Negroid appearance. Ancient African historian Professor Van Sertima has illustrated how Olmecs were the first Mesoamerican civilization to use a written language, sophisticated astronomy, arts and mathematics and they built the first cities in Mexico, all of which greatly influenced the Mayans and subsequent civilizations in the Americas. “There is not the slightest doubt that all later civilizations in [Mexico and Central America], rest ultimately on an Olmec base,” once remarked Michael Coe, a leading historian on Mexico.

Africans clearly played an intricate role in the Olmec Empire’s rise and that African influence peaked during the same period that ancient Black Egyptian culture ascended in Africa."--Before Columbus: How Africans Brought Civilization to America

In October every second week on Monday, Columbus Day is celebrated in western culture in general and in the America's specifically. This is an American tradition and school children of all ages are taught about his so-called discovery of his New-World. Annual parades are given around the country, and every year dignitaries participate in these festivities.

Unfortunately, most people celebrate his holiday without knowing the truth about Columbus's purpose for taking such risky voyages, and his horrendous behavior against the indigenous population, together with brutality against his own men.

At the other end of the spectrum, Columbus's impact has been most devastating on the indigenous people together with African communities everywhere. For a better understanding, three historical events before Columbus's four voyages are presented, along with the reasons for these voyages.http://www.reunionblackfamily.com/apps/blog/show/42758005-before-columbus-how-africans-brought-civilization-to-america

President Buhari tells Commonwealth that Gaddafi Demise Has Esclated Terrorism in Africa.

Buhari tells Commonwealth that Gaddafi’s Demise Has Esclated Terrorism in Africa.

“The rise of terrorism in Africa is as a result of the collapse of Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in Libya,”said Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.

Muammar Gaddafi, the former dictator of Libya, ruled the North African country for 42 years before his death in 2011. He created relative peace in the Sahel region of Africa and kept Islamic extremism to a minimum. In the midst of all the conflicts that happened in that region during his time, Gaddafi was said to have brokered peace in about 90 percent of them according to Dr. Segun Bolarinwa, a senior researcher at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs. Bolarinwa says that this was possible because Gadaffi had an efficient army, “apart from training his own Libyan Soldiers in countries like Russia and North Korea, he also recruited men from tribes in the Sahel region, who knew the terrain. One these tribes- the Tuareg, are a minority group of social misfits mainly from the Northern part of Mali.”

The Tuaregs, also referred to as the “Kurds of Africa” did not join Gaddafi because of his ideologies, rather they joined because of Libya’s oil money. And when Gaddafi was killed by NATO-supported freedom fighters in 2011, the Tuaregs disbanded along with the rest of Gaddafi’s army, all armed with ammunition and money from Gaddafi’s reserves. While some of Gaddafi’s army followed his family, in particular his son Saad Gaddafi, to Niger seeking assylum, some of them followed the Tuareg soldiers to Mali. There they joined with the Tuareg rebels already there.

There in Mali, they found a new cause to fight for. “Gaddafi’s men helped aggravate the Tuareg conflict in Northern Mali. The Tuareg had been complaining of marginalization and wanted their own state, Azawad state. The state would be free from the control of the Malian Government in Bamako. The Libyan Soldiers, idle, loaded and on the prowl, hijacked the Tuareg cause, and made it theirs” Dr. Bolarinwa said. This new coalition, along with Al-Qaeda groups present in the area, fought with the Malian government in 2012, although they didn’t prevail. However, some of the members of the coalition, especially the Al-Qaeda associated groups started carrying out bombings and Guerrilla warfare in Mali, culminating in the attack on an hotel in Mali last week.

Boko Haram, has also met with some of the former soldier’s in Gaddafi’s army. According to Dr. Bolarinwa “some of these scattered soldiers also hid in Chad, where they met Shekau. They are the ones who supplied Shekau with ammunition for his insurgency in Nigeria.” In January BBC also reported that Boko Haram received most of their weapons from Gaddafi’s arm depots. Buhari is on the mark in terms of the rise of terrorism in Africa, especially in the Sahel region of Africa.

The promise of democracy after Gaddafi’s death has now been hijacked by jihadists militants and different armed militias. Libyans are living now under harsher conditions.

Dr. Bolarinwa supports President Buhari’s statement at the meeting and his call for support from the West in the fight against terrorism in Africa. “What he said was correct. Buhari is talking from experience as a soldier himself. The UN and the Commonwealth should combine powers and stop this trend, or else it could spread to other sub-Saharan countries” he said. Buhari’s statement also supports U.S. President Barack Obama’s hesitation to put soldiers on ground to combat The Islamic State. Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan show that you can’t destroy a country to rebuild without the support and desire of local stakeholders.

Ile-Ife Existed Before Birth Of Jesus Christ–Late Ooni Of Ile Ife.Taboo As New Ooni Knee down To White Jesus Pastors

Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade said yesterday in Ibadan that Ile-Ife had been in existed over 10,000 years before the birth of Jesus Christ, and even before Oyo town, warning people against distortion of history.

Sijuwade made this fact known while delivering his goodwill message at the Lead City University where he was given an honorary Doctor of Public Administration award along with three others.

He furthered: “Ile- ife was created 10,000 years before the birth of Christ. Then how can anyone say it has existed before Ile-Ife. This is distortion of history and it should be stopped. We all belong to Ile-Ife and it will remain forever until God decides otherwise and by that time, none of us here will be around.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/12/ile-ife-existed-birth-jesus-christ-oyo-town-ooni-ife/

To those who are supporting the Ooni of Ife, this is how the idea of divine right of kings works:

In the Yorubaland, Olodumare is the mythological father, and the Ooni Adimula is his vicar on earth.

In Ancient Egypt, Ausar (i.e. Osiris) was the mythological father. The SUN, personified by Heru (I.e. Horus), was Ausar's visible manifestation on earth, and the pharaoh was Ausar's vicar on earth.

In Ptolemaic Egypt, Serapis (i.e. Osiris + Apis bull) was the mythological father, and the Ptolemaic pharaoh was his vicar on earth.

In the Roman system, Jesus (i.e. an adaptation of Serapis) was the mythological father. He was also his own visible manifestation on earth as the SUN, personified as the SON, and the Pope is his vicar on earth.

The Anglican system is the same as the Roman system except that the Queen is the vicar of Christ on earth.

In conclusion, the doctrine of divine right of kings is relative to one's environment and culture. The Ooni of Ife is the Adimula Igbakeji Orisa n'la. The Ooni is not the Igbakeji of Oyinbo Jesus, for Oyinbo Jesus and Olodumare are not synonymous at all.

It's Oba Ogunwusi's prerogative to praise and worship whoever he wants but not in his capacity as the Ooni of Ife, the Arole Oduduwa.

We call upon all the Yoruba kingmakers to desist from enthroning intellectual infants as Obas. By Ifa Dare.

Religion will prefers mankind to remain ignorance and unintelligent through the weapon of myth... etc for ever.

The White Race Prostituted our Culture and Tradition, Fornicated our Ethics and Raped our Ancestral shrines.

Proliferating their psychedelic and adulterated beliefs thereof relegating our salubrious custom to a referendum etc. How could they have suddenly turn around and give us Something Good....??

A religion they don't even believe in (Christian). A Strategic Imperialistic Hegemony!!! A king Does not teaches a subject to become a king, instead he teaches him how to remain a submissive subject and give birth to a submissive Race.. The white man has always seen us as Slaves!!!mishandle and misremember our cognitive wits! And his ideas about us and wishes for us is all about Merchandise ...........NOW IGNORANCE BECOME OUR MASTER

Biblical Verses used by Slave Masters to Justify Slavery

Psalm 123:2 (New International Version (NIV)): As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he shows us his mercy.

Ephesians 6:4-6: Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.

Ephesians 6:5:Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

Ephesians 6:9:And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.

Colossians 3:22:Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.

Colossians 4:1:Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven.

Titus 2:9:Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them,

1 Peter 2:18:Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh.

Slaveowners would read these verses to slaves as part of the worship services that they allowed (and controlled) as a means of encouraging the proper attitude among their slaves. Based upon these isolated verses, slaveowners claimed that the Bible supported slavery and taught slaves to be obedient to their masters.

China Says U.S. Can't Talk Human Rights When It Has Racism Problems At Home.

China Says U.S. Can’t Talk Human Rights When It Has Racism Problems At Home (DETAILS)

China delivered a major “BOOP!” Thursday, when the foreign ministry said the U.S. had no place to slam other countries on their human rights records when it’s battling its own racism problems at home.

Citing the killings of unarmed black men at the hands of law enforcement and a scathing and disturbing U.S. Senate report on the torture of detainees under George W. Bush’s administration, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei called the U.S. out on its hypocrisy and “poor record.”

The pretty spot-on comments come after U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and U.S. ambassador to China Max Baucus issued statements Wednesday mentioning the case of the imprisoned Chinese Nobel laureate Liu Xiaobo.

“The United States has no right to pose as arbiters and at every turn point their fingers at other countries’ human rights as racism and mistreatment of prisoners and other serious problems in the United States are facts now known to all,” Hong told a daily news briefing.

China and the United States often spar about each other’s human rights records, and on Wednesday, Beijing urged Washington to “correct its ways” following the torture report.

Retired White priest.Hell was invented by the church to control people with fear

Retired priest: ‘Hell’ was invented by the church to control people with fear.

Spong: I don’t think Hell exists. I happen to believe in life after death, but I don’t think it’s got a thing to do with reward and punishment. Religion is always in the control business, and that’s something people don’t really understand. It’s in a guilt-producing control business. And if you have Heaven as a place where you’re rewarded for you goodness, and Hell is a place where you’re punished for your evil, then you sort of have control of the population. And so they create this fiery place which has quite literally scared the Hell out of a lot of people, throughout Christian history. And it’s part of a control tactic.

You need Adobe Flash Player to view this content.

Morrison: But wait a minute. You’re saying that Hell, the idea of a place under the earth or somewhere you’re tormented for an eternity – is actually an invention of the church?

Spong: I think the church fired its furnaces hotter than anybody else. But I think there’s a sense in most religious life of reward and punishment in some form. The church doesn’t like for people to grow up, because you can’t control grown-ups. That’s why we talk about being born again. When you’re born again, you’re still a child. People don’t need to be born again. They need to grow up. They need to accept their responsibility for themselves and the world.

Morrison: What do you make of the theology which is pretty quite prominent these days in America, which is there is one guaranteed way not to go to hell; And that is to accept Jesus as your personal savior.

Spong: Yeah, I grew up in that tradition. Every church I know claims that ‘we are the true church’ – that they have some ultimate authority, ‘We have the infallible Pope,’ We have the Bible.’… The idea that the truth of God can be bound in any human system, by any human creed, by any human book, is almost beyond imagination for me.

I mean, God is not a Christian. God is not a Jew or a Muslim or a Hindi or Buddhist. All of those are human systems, which human beings have created to try to help us walk into the mystery of God. I honor my tradition. I walk through my tradition. But I don’t think my tradition defines God. It only points me to God.

Do you remember Arthur Wharton - the world's first black professional footballer?

By Colin Joseph

It is over one hundred years since Arthur Wharton, the world’s first black professional footballer (born in Ghana) astounded English crowds with his goalkeeping and football skills.

Whether Arthur Wharton (also respected as an athlete and cricketer) could have continued as a coach or even a manager in England after seeing out his playing career at Stockport County (1901-02) is likely to be seen as a bridge too far by many. After all he was a person of colour playing football at a time when it must have been extremely challenging to achieve success.

Fast forward to the present day and ironically there are currently no BME (black minority ethnic) managers in the Premiership. This is despite a large proportion of BME footballers playing top-flight football in the Premier League. And last season there was only one BME manager, Chris Ramsey, who was appointed manager of a struggling QPR (Queens Park Rangers) with only a handful of games remaining. Despite Ramsey’s valiant efforts, QPR were relegated from the Premiership meaning the woefully low number of BME managers in English professional football now all work in the lower leagues.

When I originally wrote this feature (please click on link for the full version) in November last year there were only 19 senior BME coaches in English professional football (including two BME managers) out of 552 senior coaching positions.

Is there hope for the future?

Interestingly a version of American Football’s ‘Rooney Rule’ could be introduced for the 2016-17 English football season to increase the number of BME managers and coaches at English football clubs. It will mean that from next year all English football clubs in the Premier League (20 clubs) and the following three lower divisions (72 clubs) - run by the Football League - will have to interview at least one BME candidate for each head coach or manager position.

The shockingly low numbers of BME coaches and managers in English football is being looked at closely by the Fare network (an international umbrella organisation that brings together everyone driven to combat inequality in football). Piara Powar, Executive Director of the Fare network, said the lack of BME senior coaches in English football is a serious cause for concern. He said: “We are very familiar with seeing black and other ethnic minorities as professional players but coaches from those communities are rare.

“If the English football authorities can address the concerns we have and move to a system that is both fair and helps performance management, football will begin to change the way it recruits coaches across the world."

INDIA SUES BRITAIN FOR THEFT OF THE KOH I NOOR... WILL AFRICA FORMER BRITISH COLONIES FOLLOW SUIT... FORWARD EVER

Diamonds aren’t forever: Indians sue Britain for return of Queen’s ‘Koh-i-Noor’ crown jewel.

Britain’s most famous crown jewel, the Koh-i-Noor, could be returned to India if a group of Bollywood stars and businessmen succeed in their lawsuit against the UK.

David de Souza, co-founder of Indian leisure group Titos, is helping to fund the legal action that claims the diamond – once the world’s largest – was stolen by the British during India’s colonization.

The move coincides with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the UK this week, during which he will meet the Queen for lunch at Buckingham Palace.

The British government has so far rejected claims to the jewel.

The 105-carat diamond was acquired by the British when Punjab was annexed by the East India Company in 1849.

The last ruler of the Sikh Empire, then 13-year-old Dulip Singh, was brought to England to present it to Queen Victoria in 1850.

It was worn by the Queen Mother, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyons, at the coronation of her husband, King George VI, in 1937 and again by Queen Elizabeth II at her coronation in 1953.

“The Koh-i-Noor is one of the many artifacts taken from India under dubious circumstances,” De Souza told the Sunday Telegraph.

“Colonization did not only rob our people of wealth, it destroyed the country’s psyche itself. It brutalized society, traces of which linger on today in the form of mass poverty, lack of education and a host of other factors.”

A group which calls itself the ‘Mountain of Light’ – a direct translation of the Koh-i-Noor – is launching the lawsuit through Birmingham-based law firm Rubric Lois King.

Bollywood star Bhumicka Singh is adding her support to the claim.

“The Koh-i-Noor is not just a 105-carat stone, but part of our history and culture and should undoubtedly be returned,” she said.

Lawyer Satish Jakhu said the litigants are basing their case on the Holocaust (Return of Cultural Objects) Act, which gives national institutions in the UK the power to return stolen art.

He added they would argue that the British government had stolen the diamond under the common law doctrine of “trespass to goods.”

News of the lawsuit has irked some apologists for British imperialism, with historian Andrew Roberts describing it as “ludicrous.”

France outrage as 'racist' French police black-up, eat bananas and scratch themselves like monkeys at party

Officers from Paris suburb of Kremlin-Bicetre attended a fancy dress party

Blackened their faces with boot polish and ate bananas

One officer even posed as if he were scratching himself like a monkey.

Police in a Paris suburb are facing the sack after blackening up their faces with boot polish and eating bananas during a fancy dress party.

The officers, from Kremlin-Bicetre, thought pictures of the party would remain private, however the images which show them smiling with their blacked up faces and afro wigs appeared on social media, where they quickly spread.

One of the photos even shows one officer with a bunch of bananas, scratching himself if he were a monkey, with a bucket of nuts on the ground in front of him.

The pictures have caused outrage across France with anti-racism groups slamming their behaviour.

Louis-Georges Tin, president of the Conseil Represantatif des Associations Noires said: 'If the police officers who have the responsibility to fight racism are busy making fun of black people than defending them, it could explain why things have advanced so little in this domain.'

Mr Tin has asked for a meeting with France's top policeman, Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve to discuss the pictures.

He added: 'The black people of this country don't have to put up with racial profiling by people who dress up like this at night.'

The blacked up photo scandal comes after a string of high-profile racist taunts directed at France's black Justice Minister Christiane Taubira.

In November 2013, far-right weekly magazine Minute published a cover page with the headline 'Crafty as a monkey, Taubira gets her banana back'.

The images were reported to the authorities by Claudy Siar, the former ministerial delegate charged with ensuring equality of opportunity for the population of France's overseas territories.

"Someone I know told me of the existence of these photos on the Facebook account of one of her friends," Siar told BFM TV.

"In my presence, she called this friend and told them she was shocked. The friend was taken by surprise and tried to play down what had happened, saying that they were just having fun with friends in private and that it was a 'negro party'.

"She immediately took down the photos but there were screen grabs that had already been taken."

Several anti-racism organisations have officially complained about the photographs, among them the Conseil Représentatif des Associations Noires. Its president, Louis-Georges Tin, said: "If the police whose job it is to fight racism are too busy mocking blacks to defend them, it could be a good explanation as to why things aren't improving in this area."

He added that if the photographs were real they were a "terrible shame on the national police".

The police's internal complaints authority has opened an inquiry into the accusations and will interview officers based in Kremlin-Bicêtre, Paris.

Last year a policeman in the Val-d'Oise region outside Paris was found by the Copwatch website to have posted a series of xenophobic statements on social networking sites.

Another officer in Trappes, in the Yvelines department outside Paris, posted images deemed Islamophobic after he had been involved in stopping a woman in the street for wearing a veil – an incident which caused three nights of rioting in the area.

Last November, the French justice minister, Christiane Taubira, suffered racist insults including being described as a monkey on a magazine cover which showed her smiling under the headline suggesting she had her "banana back", a play on the French term banane, signifying a broad smile.

French policy responsible for Paris attacks, says Assad

French policy responsible for Paris attacks, says Assad

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said Saturday that French policy had contributed to the “spread of terrorism” that culminated in attacks claimed by the Islamic State group which killed 140 people in Paris.

“What France suffered from savage terror is what the Syrian people have been enduring for five years,” Assad reportedly said during his meeting on Saturday with a visiting delegation of French lawmakers, according to the pan-Arab al-Mayadeen TV.

In a jab at France, the embattled leader said “the wrong policies of the West, including France, in the Arab and Africa regions have contributed to the spread of terrorism.”

The state news agency SANA cited Assad as telling the French lawmakers that the Paris attacks could not be separated from the deadly bombings that rocked Lebanon’s capital Beirut on Thursday, during which over 40 people were killed, and the five years of Syrian conflict.

The Syrian government has for long accused the West of supporting the insurgency against Assad’s rule, deeming such actions as a “support of terror.”

Assad stressed the importance of adopting new policies that could be efficient in curbing the support of terror groups, by drying up their resources and halting their logistic and political support until finally eliminating them completely.

Syria’s Foreign Ministry also condemned the attacks, saying the Syrian people know more than anyone else the ugliness of terrorism and what happened in Paris, noting that terrorism constitutes a grave danger on the security and peace in the entire world.

The ministry stressed that “terrorism has no boundaries and will surely rebound on its backers, something which requires uniting all sincere international efforts to eradicate this scourge and correct the wrong policies to achieve an efficient counter-terror effort and preserve the peace and stability in the region and the world.”

About six shootings and at least two explosions rocked Paris late Friday at some of the capital’s most popular venues known for vibrant atmosphere during the weekend.

Local media said the death toll has risen to 128, with 250 people wounded, 99 in critical situation.

The ferocious attacks have been widely condemned across the world.

France has been the target of terrorist attacks following its military offensive in ,Libya Mali, Iraq and Syria. Its security system has been put at the highest level since the Charlie Hebdo series of attacks in January 2015.

SISTER SOULJAH: HILLARY CLINTON IS SLAVE MASTER'S WIFE, TALKS DOWN TO BLACK PEOPLE.

'It all goes back to the plantation,' says the prolific writer

It's pretty safe to say that Hillary Clinton will not be getting Sister Souljah's vote in 2016.

The prolific writer and activist had choice words for the Democratic presidential candidate and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, during an interview with the Breakfast Club.

When asked if she planned to cast her presidential ballot in favor of Hillary, Souljah did not mince words.

"It all goes back to the plantation...you got the white master and his wife," she said emphatically.

"They talk down to Black people, which doesn't mean they haven't done any good for Black people. But there were some kind slave masters also--they're still slave masters, and they still see you as slaves."

JADA PINKETT SMITH SAYS HILLARY CAMPAIGN UNEARTHS SHAKY RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BLACK, WHITE WOMEN

Sister Souljah went on to criticize the former Secretary of State, accusing her of exposing her presumably covert racism in how she's communicated with President Barack Obama.

"Hillary Clinton worked for Obama and even talked down to Obama, the commander in chief, while she was under his command," she said.

"A slave master would have no problem with the slaves because they're doing what they're told. But for somebody like President Obama and his wife, both graduates of Harvard, you can't talk down to them, so if you do...you're telling on yourself.

"That tells me something about you that rubs me the wrong way."

It's no secret that Sister Souljah, author of "The Coldest Winter Ever," was not and will probably never be Bill Clinton's biggest fan. In 1992, Clinton slammed comments allegedly made by Souljah in an attempt to create political distance from Jesse Jackson, who had invited the writer to speak at the Rainbow Push Coalition.

Clinton compared Souljah to a member of the KKK, insinuating that she was exhibiting reverse racism in which she was quoted as promoting the murders of white people.

Both Jackson and Souljah have said that she was gravely misquoted.

Meet Nigerian Dr. Olurotimi Badero The World Only Combined Heart and Kidney Specialist

Meet Nigerian Dr. Olurotimi Badero, The World’s Only Combined Heart and Kidney Specialist

With his laid-back demeanor, most wouldn't guess that Dr. Olurotimi Badero, 43, is one of the most knowledgeable medical minds in Mississippi. As the only combined cardiologist and nephrologist in the United States, Badero is a coveted commodity in his field, yet despite numerous job offers, he has stayed in Jackson.

Even in high school, Badero valued education. He performed better than any other student in his native country, Nigeria, earning him an award for academic excellence. After completing his undergraduate studies at the Obafemi Awolowo University of Ife, he enrolled in the school's medical program and graduated in 1997.

Soon after, he moved to the United States to attend the State University of New York, where he completed specialty training in internal medicine in 2004. In 2006, he earned his specialty degree in nephrology at Emory University in Atlanta. As he began treating patients, he realized that might not be enough. "When I was taking care of nephrology patients, I found out that patients were dying from cardiovascular disease and not from kidney disease," he says.

In 2009, he returned to SUNY to earn his specialty degree in cardiology. After another three years in New York, Badero was accepted into Yale University, where he earned three more specialties: interventional cardiology, peripheral vascular medicine and peripheral vascular convention. His skill began drawing attention from medical organizations, including the Association of Black Cardiologists, which presented Badero with an award for excellence in cardiology in 2008.After training from 2001 to 2010, Badero was considering a job offer in Jackson, Tenn. His plans shifted dramatically while on a retreat in the Poconos Mountains. His church group visited the area to focus on God, and Badero hoped the experience would guide his decision. After five days with no answer, Badero was driving back to New York City when he read another car's license plate: Jackson

"When I saw 'Jackson,' I got excited," he says. "'This is God telling me to go to Jackson, Tennessee.' But then something in my mind said, 'Why don't you take another look?'"

Badero took a position as an interventional cardiologist at Central Mississippi Medical Center in 2011. He performed the first radial coronary angioplasty in CMMC history and treated nephrology patients for two years without additional pay. He did a one-year fellowship in interventional nephrology and dialysis that year. In 2013, he formed Cardiac, Renal & Vascular Associates. He is a board-certified cardiologist, nephrologist, interventional nephrologist, internist and nuclear cardiologist.

George Bush Sr says 'iron-ass' Cheney and 'arrogant' Rumsfeld damaged America.

Former president claims hawkish reaction to 9/11 attacks and desire to ‘get our way in the Middle East’ hurt his son’s administration, says new biography.

Former US president George HW Bush has hit out at Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, two of the most senior figures in his son’s administration, labelling them too “hardline” and “arrogant” in their handling of the 11 September attacks.

Dick Cheney: organ grinder to George Bush's monkey

A new biography of the 41st president – Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey Of George Herbert Walker Bush – reveals that Bush Sr held Cheney and Rumsfeld responsible for the hawkish stance that “hurt” his son’s administration,

The book, by Jon Meacham, is based on audio diaries that Bush recorded during his time in the White House, as well as interviews with the former president and his wife, Barbara.

Cheney served as defence secretary during George HW Bush’s 1989-1993 presidency and later as vice-president under President George W Bush. After 9/11, Bush Sr told his biographer: “I don’t know, he just became very hardline and very different from the Dick Cheney I knew and worked with.

“The reaction [to 9/11], what to do about the Middle East. Just iron-ass. His seeming knuckling under to the real hard-charging guys who want to fight about everything, use force to get our way in the Middle East,” Bush told Meacham in the book, which is due to be published next week.

Of his son’s role, Bush Sr told his biographer: “He’s my son, he did his best and I’m for him. It’s that simple an equation.”

But he criticised Bush Jr for allowing Cheney to build “kind of his own state department” and for the inflammatory language that infused the US response to the 9/11 attacks.

“I do worry about some of the rhetoric that was out there – some of it his [Bush Jr], maybe, and some of it the people around him. Hot rhetoric is pretty easy to get headlines, but it doesn’t necessarily solve the diplomatic problem.”

He added that George W Bush’s infamous state of the union address in 2002, in which the then president warned of an “axis of evil” of Iraq, Iran and North Korea, “might be historically proved to be not benefiting anything”.

Rumsfeld, who was Bush Jr’s secretary of defense for most of his two terms, has so far not commented on the criticisms directed at him by the 41st president, who in the book calls him “an arrogant fellow”, adding: “I don’t like what he did, and I think it hurt the president.

“I’ve never been that close to him anyway. There’s a lack of humility, a lack of seeing what the other guy thinks. He’s more kick-ass and take names, take numbers. I think he paid a price for that.”

But Cheney told Fox News he took the “iron-ass” jibe as a compliment.

“I took it as a mark of pride,” he says. “The attack on 9/11 was worse than Pearl Harbor, in terms of the number people killed, and the amount of damage done. I think a lot of people believed then, and still believe to this day that I was aggressive in defending, in carrying out what I thought were the right policies.”

Cheney insisted he had enjoyed reading Meacham’s book. “The diary’s fascinating, because you can see how he felt at various key moments of his life. So I’m enjoying the book. I recommend it to my friends. And [I’m] proud to be a part of it.”

But he dismissed claims levelled by the former president that Lynne Cheney, his wife, as well as his daughter Liz Cheney, had been the “eminence grises” behind his vice-presidency. “It’s his view, perhaps, of what happened, but my family was not conspiring to somehow turn me into a tougher, more hard-nosed individual.

“I got there all by myself.”

George W Bush said his father “would never say to me: ‘Hey, you need to rein in Cheney. He’s ruining your administration.’ It would be out of character for him to do that.

“I made the decisions. This was my philosophy.

“It is true that my rhetoric could get pretty strong and that may have bothered some people. Obviously it did, including Dad, though he never mentioned it.”

DYLANN ROOF RECEIVES $4 MILION IN DONATIONS FROM HATE CRIME SUPPORTERS.

On June 17, Dylann Roof shot and killed nine people during a Bible study class at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina. The 21-year-old’s detailed manifesto reportedly explains his hatred toward African Americans and other races. He even revealed why he chose the historical black church for the hate crime he committed.

Following his June 18 arrest, a bond hearing at a Centralized Bond Hearing Court was scheduled for Friday, June 19. Charleston County Magistrate James Gosnell Jr. set Roof’s bail at $1 million for a single weapons charge, and now it has been reported that hate groups have raised more than $4 million for his bail and other legal costs.

On Thursday, June 25, the report about Dylann Roof’s alleged supporters was published .The report claims Roof’s supporters, who are in agreement with his views of racism, segregation, and the Confederacy, have come together in the wake of the hate crime and the nationwide condemnation of the controversial Confederate flag.

The publication even includes a screenshot of the donation page, which displays the total amount supporters have raised thus far — a whopping $4,287,321.66. There are certain details about the account that are blurred, but the image appears to be a screenshot of a PayPal account.

Ghana plans to remove English as a medium of instruction in schools.Africa would have done better scientifically with their mother tongue

Ghana plans to remove English as a medium of instruction in schools.Africa would have done much better scientifically with their mother tongue.

The country’s Minister of Education, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, laid the blame mostly on the inability of the educated working class to develop the nation to the language used in teaching them in schools, GhanaWeb reported.

Prof. Agyeman, who was speaking at the Shared Prosperity on Forum on Friday said she was determined to push through the language policy at the highest level so that pupils can be taught in their mother tongue. She expressed confidence in that removing English as the medium of instruction would “change this country”.

The minister’s statement reportedly elicited loud cheers from the audience. The change in language policy has been up for discussion for some time but has never been aggressively pursued.

She made the example of a country like Korea which accelerated its development because of children being taught in their home language.

Earlier this year, Tanzania announced plans of its own to remove English as the medium of instruction in its schools.

Africa would have done much better scientifically and technologically with their mother tongue....By Ibo Tabo

Few whites in Africa but imposed their languages, culture

When Scotland gets independence from Britain, its language, namely Gaelic, native to Scotland, would be boosted by independence and adopted as the National Language. Africa after its freedom from Britain and French, killed off all it languages for English/French. How do you expect ingenuity with a foreign language? Africa would have done much better scientifically & technologically with their mother tongue

Few whites in Africa but imposed their languages, culture, etc on us,all over Africa which I did travelled our official languages are only European languages. The Africans who are in Europe they have no say on ANYTHING, in fact they are not welcome at all.

Look at this; in every African country TV or Radio news are delivered on European languages, have you ever heard a French TV or BBC-UK gave news using African language in these countries for the benefits of these Africans lives in these European countries? Please don’t get confuse and tell me about BBC Africa, I need a BBC TV for the UK people to give news by an African language for the Africans lives in the UK.

Yes I can’t ask someone to loves me if I don’t loves myself, I can’t ask someone to respect me if I don’t respect myself, and this is the really issue we are facing. Before we ask the news in the UK & Paris to be delivering in African languages for the dignity of the Africans who are there, we must make sure that it’s done in Africa first, but do you think with these kinds of minds like ours we can go any far?

You see what radical & Racists guys like Sarkozy say and do to the Africans; in the UK its clear not just on chauvinists parties like the famous BNP, EDL etc but now you Africa which our country is member of the so-called commonwealth country, you can’t just fly to London and visit. Remember that the sweat of your fathers is what built the ugly London or Paris. Remember that without the African minerals these cities could not be how they are and now they are breaking down to disrepair because the Africans blood is not coming as used to be.

Remember that many, many Africans perished on the WWII helping the French-English and saving them from killing each other Vs the Germans. So the Africans should have full right to live in any of these countries he wish, as he participated on everything plus he gave-up or was force to give-up many of his things for the Europeans culture.

Instead of this, now the Europeans open the doors for the polish, the roma, the Ukrainians etc to come and lives as they share the same colour of skin and they close the doors for the Africans...

"No Nation Can Rise Above The Level Of It's Women."0môwálé, Malcolm X

They experimented on the mental states of our women, it is our duty as men to gain knowledge of our creator and self, so we can restore them

"The slave maker knew that he couldn't make these people slaves until he first made them DUMB. And one of the best ways to make a man DUMB is to take his tongue, take his language. A man who can't talk, what do they call him? A DUMMY. Once your language is gone, you are a DUMMY. You can't communicate with people who are your relatives, you can never have access to information from your family—you just can't communicate.

Also, if you'll notice, the natural tongue that one speaks is referred to as one's MOTHER TONGUE—MOTHER TONGUE. And the natural intelligence that a person has before he goes to school is called mother wit. Not father wit—it's called MOTHER wit because everything a child knows before it gets to school, it learns from its MOTHER, not its father. And if it never goes to school, whatever native intelligence it has, it got it primarily from its MOTHER, not its father; so it's called mother wit. And the mother is also the one who teaches the child how to speak its language, so that the natural tongue is called the mother tongue. Whenever you find as many people as we who aren't able to speak any mother tongue, why, that's evidence right there something was done to our mother. Something had to have happened to her.

They had laws in those days that made it mandatory for a Black child to be taken from its mother as fast as that child was born. The mother never had a chance to rear it. The child would be brought up somewhere else away from the mother, so that the mother couldn't teach the child what she knew—about itself, about her past, about its heritage. It would have to grow up in complete darkness, knowing nothing about the land where it came from or the people that it came from. Not even about its own mother. There was no relationship between the Black child and its mother; it was against the law. And if the master would ever find any of those children who had any knowledge of its mother tongue, that child was put to death. They had to stamp out the language; they did it scientifically. If they found any one of them that could speak it, off went its head, or they would put it to death, they would kill it, in front of the mother, if necessary. This is history; this is how they took your language. You didn't lose it, it didn't evaporate—they took it with a scientific process, because they knew they had to take it to make you dumb, or into the dummy that you and I now are.

I read in some books where it said that some of the slave mothers would try and get tricky. In order to teach their child, who'd be off in another field somewhere, they themselves would be praying and they'd pray in a loud voice, and in their own language. The child in the distant field would hear his mother's voice, and he'd learn how to pray in the same way; and in learning how to pray, he'd pick up on some of the language. And the master found that this was being done, and immediately he stepped up his efforts to kill all the little children that were benefiting from this. And so it became against the law even for the slave to be caught praying in his tongue, if he knew it. It was against the law. You've heard some of the people say they had to pray with their heads in a bucket. Well, they weren't praying to the Jesus that they're praying to now. The white man will let you call on that Jesus all day long; in fact he'll make it possible for you to call on him. If you were calling on somebody else, then he'd have more fear of it. Your calling on that somebody else in that other language—that causes him a bit of fear, a bit of fright.[...]

For three hundred years we stayed at that level. Finally we got to where we had no language, no history, no name. The white man named us after himself—Jones, Smith, Johnson, Bunche, and names like those. [Laughter] We couldn't speak our own language; we had none. And he then began to teach us that we came from a jungle, where the people had no language. This was the crime that was committed—he convinced us that our people back home were savages and animals in the jungle, and the reason we couldn't talk was because we never had a language. And we grew up thinking that we never had one."

Tanzania to ditch English as medium of instruction in public schools

In an audacious move that is to revolutionise Tanzania's primary and secondary education, the country's Ministry of Education and Vocational Training has decided to ditch English as the medium of instruction in its schools.

The brazen new policy will see Kiswahili become the new lingua franca in Tanzania schools, discarding English as medium of instruction.

The changes were launched by President Jakaya Kikwete on Saturday and include:

Extending basic education from seven years to eleven

Abolishing national examinations for primary school leavers

Free education at primary and secondary levels

Kiswahili to replace English as medium of instruction

According to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, Prof Sifuni Mchome, the new education system will incorporate vocational education in the basic education syllabus so that students who do not make it to Form Five have skills to contribute to the development of the country.

But extensive preparations will have to be implemented before the language change takes effect, meaning it could be decades before Kiswahili is fully established in schools.

Children learn better in their mother tongue

UNESCO has encouraged mother tongue instruction in primary education since 1953 (UNESCO, 1953) and UNESCO highlights the advantages of mother tongue education right from the start: children are more likely to enroll and succeed in school (Kosonen, 2005); parents are more likely to communicate with teachers and participate in their children’s learning (Benson, 2002); girls and rural children with less exposure to a dominant language stay in school longer and repeat grades less often (Hovens, 2002; UNESCO Bangkok, 2005); and children in multilingual education tend to develop better thinking skills compared to their monolingual peers (e.g., Bialystok, 2001; Cummins, 2000; King & Mackey, 2007).

Some educators argue that only those countries where the student’s first language is the language of instruction are likely to achieve the goals of Education for All. Research also suggests that engaging marginalized children in school through mother-tongue based, multilingual education (MTB-MLE) is a successful model (Benson & Kosonen, 2013; Yiakoumetti, 2012). We are beginning to get answers to some key questions: Under what circumstances and with what resources can education in the mother-tongue combined with multilingual education be an effective approach whereby children become proficient in their home language while laying the foundation for learning in additional languages? What are the costs and benefits of alternative approaches directed at the individual, family, community, school, region, and nation? What are meaningful yet efficient ways to measure costs and benefits? What are the implications of MTB-MLE for recruiting, educating, and mentoring teachers and teacher assistants and for creating and evaluating curricula in diverse language classrooms? What are the contributions of family and community in formal and non-formal MTB-MLE, and how can these be measured?

Africans Live On A Continent Owned by Europeans!

By: Mawuna Remarque KOUTONIN

The Dream of Europeans is to transform the whole continent into South Africa or Kenya, where a white minority owns and controls the local economy, while Africans are just good like consumers or their servants. The subject is uncomfortable but we need to talk about it, otherwise we will wake up with more Robert Mugabe who is doing a great job redressing centuries of white minority domination and exploitation of Zimbabwean people.

Let’s take a look at South Africa, a country where the white minority makes less than 10% of the population but owns more than 80% South African lands and economy. They didn’t buy those lands.

In South Africa 64% of top senior management positions are filled by whites. 90% of the board of the Central Bank is made of the white minority. 90% of media is in the hands of Whites, who control content, project whiteness (local South African adverts have a 85% White representation) and marginalize and exploit Africans, with the exception of Africans being 86% represented in alcohol adverts. 97% of mainstream South African films are owned, produced and directed by non-Africans.

Africa without Africans is the dream of the local predatory, supremacist white minority.

A recent report came to challenge the well spread idea that the West is pouring money into Africa through aid without receiving much in return. All in contrary, the report proved that Africa has lost up to $1.4 trillion in illicit financial flows to the West from 1980 to 2009. This amount is 233 times the 60 billions foreign “aid” Africa supposedly receives every year from the West.

The illicit financial flows involve the transfer of money earned through corruption, bribes, tax evasion, criminal activities and transactions involving contraband goods. In the end, the report concluded that those illicit financial flow are fast growing and are far exceeding money coming into the continent, therefore seriously undermining the continent’s development.

Now let’s be clear, those illicit financial flow are organized by the very same foreign people who claim they come to help build Africa, the same people you and me see and meet everyday in Africa. They might be your employers, your friends or neighbors but that doesn’t change the nature of who they are and what they are doing.

Of course the local rich subalterns helping those folks got their big houses and cars, but Africa as a whole has no sustainable future with that model of development.

This is not different from colonial times! but it’s nicely called “Africa is Rising”.

“Multinational Corporations are the New Colonisers in Africa”

wrote Lord Aikins Adusei

60 years after the fictitious independence declarations, Africa is still controlled by European expatriates, oil companies, military forces, Banks, etc. Some Africans think that is good for Africa. They are therich subalterns. Some others think Africans must free themselves from that European colonialism, and fight for more local ownership.

Now, comes a country like Kenya, which was not under any apartheid system like South Africa, but most corporations in Kenya have whole foreign boards. Most the country economical assets are in the hand of a tiny white minority helped but a horde of local subalterns.

A Kenyan friend shared with me the background tale: “One only needs to read about the origins and activities of the London Rhodesia Group (Lonrho) formerly run by Tiny Rowland to really appreciate the gravity of the situation in Africa. Lonrho perfected the art of acquiring valuable productive assets across the continent by targeting corrupt leaders with gifts and naive locals with confusing agreements and subterfuge.

One of the greatest beneficiaries of this approach was former president Moi of Kenya who pretty much gave up much of the country’s agricultural and hospitality sector crown jewels in exchange for accounts in the Caymans and gifts for his entourage of sycophants. Think about the major economic activities in Africa – Mining, Oil, Agriculture, Banking,Telecoms – Then think of the companies carrying out these activities – DeBeers, Anglo Ashanti, Shell, BP, Exxon, Barclays, Stanchart, Vodacom, Del Monte…. Get the picture?

Huge tracts of land in sub-saharan africa are owned by foreign agricultural companies paying low wages and repatriating the profits back to the western world in the form of dividends and management fees. The one country that is doing things a little different is Nigeria. A good number of Nigerian companies are bidding for oil services work in newly discovered oil fields in East and Central Africa and I am sure we all know about Aliko Dangote and his conglomerate of companies anchored by his cement production behemoth.” Concluded my friend.

Another Kenya friend commented “I am not sure why. Part of it might be a little bit of the colonial mentality–thinking foreigners are better than Kenyans. Part of it might be the foreigners represent the interests of multinationals that have invested in these companies (certainly the case with subsidiaries of multinationals like Safaricom, Barclays, Standard Chartered et al).”

A third Kenya came in “Look at modern Kenya today, sons of colonial chiefs and collaborators are now rulers and billionaires maintaining the status quo is genetically coded in them. Their children go to the best schools either in Kenya or abroad all run by the white, how can we redeem ourselves!”

Another friend brought to our attention what is called White Code in Africa. He said

“White people stand with the white code. They only praise Black people or go near Blacks who serve their interest.”The latter are in their medias, at their conferences, receive their Nobel prize and awards. This is how you know those who are working against the continent interest.

Those who refuse to work for them fall under the rule “You are with us or against us”

Angered by what is going on, another one rushed his anger out: “These white people who employed Blacks to do their filthy jobs are more racist than the kkk. They’re in Africa. They know exactly what they’re doing and how the system of racism operates.”

Every time, this subject get on our table of discussion, people points out to me many white people who are good people and are really working to help Africa. And, that’s true.

During a recent discussion, I’ve to write the following message to an Italian friend who don’t believe all white are “Devil with blue eyes!”

“It’s indeed an uncomfortable subject to talk about for all parties involved. The fact is that after 5 centuries, if Europe really wanted to help Africa, Africa should be in better shape.

As a general statement, Europe is only interested in exploitation of Africa. (again this is a general statement, because there are lot of people who are Europeans but really interested to build sane relation with Africans). The problem is that these people don’t matter, which means they neither have the power or access to resource to make any structural or substantial change. They are only individuals with good faith and goodwill, while the western power elite and apparatus is against any real Africa emancipation.

They prefer Africa laying down. It’s easier for them to suck it.

The same nations you are calling for help are in no way interested in Africa recoveryor renaissance. The longer Africa is laying down, they better they can suck the blood out the continent and its people.

Our point is the following: What would you think if all decision levels in Switzerland will be hell by Chinese, and all major assets of the country in the hand of Russians. That’s is the case in majority of African countries. This why I wrote Africans live on a continent owned by Europeans. It’s not dependence, but colonization, because it’s a situations where European use brutal military force to maintain corrupted leaders who only will help them exploit the continent.

Africans are now only guest on their own continent. In fact, there is more to this debate that an email could carry. In conclusion, Africans like any other people need friends, but trust will be hard to earn back after 5 centuries of European machiavelism.”

You have no friend. Naivete is your curse. Only the Paranoid survive!

Beware, not all people who want to help you are your friends.

A Facebook commentator wrote “All the drums beats are now about Africa rising, Growth, Growth, Growth! Africa is the future. African governments want to attract investors. And they would do anything for that”

However a friend replied:

“Growth isn’t that important. After all, the economy of the American South “grew”, but were black slaves better treated as a result?

Viability of African nations wont depend on impressive growth figures (I’m talking to the Harvard MBA crowd), but on fairness and inclusion. The moral case for nationhood is more important than the economic case for nationhood. Don’t be deceived by “Africa Rising” narrative. So the point isn’t about how many articles @HarvardBiz does on “Africa Rising”, but whether Africans will want to LIVE in Africa in future. Our society is in terminal decline, and a new society wont emerge from advocacy, but learning past lessons. By refusing to educate the next generation, we are handing over Nigeria to foreigners & children of the elite – they will pick up AK 47s.” – wrote Okwu Nwachinaemelu

Another connection continued: “There is nothing wrong in doing business with Europeans or foreigners but I think we need do more partnerships and less monopolyships/oligarchyships.”

Yes the subject is very sensitive and emotional, but emotions are necessary to trigger actions. My goal is to make my fellow Africans understand that currently they are only guests on their own continent. All levels of economical power are held by Europeans.

Wake up: Don’t paint the chains into Gold. Remove them instead.

Because it’s difficult to take off the chains, you might prefer to paint them in gold. The pain will not go away with the new color.

Steve Bantu Biko, wrote

“Black man, you are on your own.”

“In the old Benin empire, the Portuguese used to trade Boxes of sugar, White wine, and salt for hundreds of slaves, and it continues to the present, where multi-national oil cooperations would come in and dig in their drilling rigs and pay the federal government large sums of money to keep mute and turn a blind eye, while the local communities suffer the environmental pollutions caused by the oil spillage.” pointed a Nigerian contributor.

As Kwame Nkrumah has warned us:

“Capitalism is but the gentlemen’s method of slavery.”

Since Africa was invaded, the only visible development of her people is poverty which is meant to eliminate them.

Today Africa leaders are shame to our post independent freedom fighters.

Afropean are the person who either deliberately, or unconsciously betrays their own people by participating in its oppression (claiming ignorance does not prevent one from being a Afropean/Negropean. In fact ignorance is one of the major causes of Afropean/Negropeangitis.

Also see "House Negro" or "House Nigger" which refers to a house slave of a slave owner from the historic period of legal slavery .During slavery, there were two kinds of slaves: "house Negroes," who worked in the master's house and "field Negroes," who performed the manual labor outside. The house Negro having a better life than the field Negro, was unwilling to leave the plantation, and potentially more likely to support existing power structures that favor whites over blacks. Malcolm X identified with the field Negro. African leaders would considered a Afropeans and a House Negro (back then they would have called then a House "Nigger" for allow bombing and invading Africa and sold out to colonial masters ,looting Africa treasure ,they hating their own people) ..Afropeans are anti Africa people.,brainwash Niegro.

Black people everywhere are waking up to the realization that there is #NoPlaceForBlackPeople unless we retake Africa and own it #WithoutApology .
